Yesterday, Debra and I went exploring in our little city of Bridgeport, CT. call me obsessed. it’s ok…. I am. I’m obsessed with discovering all of the nooks and crannies that go unnoticed every day right here in the town where I currently reside… what I call my new, favorite home. It will almost be one year and I decided it was time to get to know this place a little better.

We drove and walked through places we had never been before. We discovered a whole new side of Bridgeport, by foot, as Debra pushed her daughter Carly (the cutest baby girl in the universe), over crumbling sidewalks, patches of weeds, and through underpasses we dare not revisit after nightfall. It was a sight to be seen. Debra in her magenta tube dress with an ever so dainty, angelic cardigan, and me in a flowing, white sundress (and red and white striped TOMS if you really wanna get a clear picture). Carly– pink, frilly, and totally intrigued, as it was her first day in an upright stroller- let’s hear it for Carly! We snapped some pictures, with the aid of my new iPhone application, Polarize (which is free- woot woot, totally get on that now!), and noted new, local hot spots that are surely blossoming.

Among the debris and overgrown weeds that we all joke about, we noticed something really special– it was the proud development of the new and exciting restaurants, bars, boutiques and other establishments happening ever so gracefully alongside, and inside, the old, deserted for so long, city of Bridgeport, CT. It is amazing to watch these places be born and developed within the ancient, historical buildings, reviving the beauty and integrity that Bridgeport once had and will soon have again.
