A dear friend (tangent: and fellow blogger) of mine, Natalie (we met on twitter and she is a fellow Connecticutian woot woot!), had a really fun request the other day. She was looking for gift ideas for her boyfriend… “I’m currently looking for the perfect handmade soap bar (like Lush soaps) for my boyfriend.. any suggestions? I like to surprise him with unique gifts…”

I almost jumped out of my chair with excitement (well, not really, but I was stoked) because I had discovered a really awesome handmade soap site on Etsy a few months ago and had been waiting for the perfect opportunity to post about it. So, this dude, Dennis Anderson, of the Anderson Soap Company, makes really coolio soaps and is totally passionate about it.

SO, my dear friend Natalie, what I am saying here is that I would totally prescribe your dirty boyfriend some handmade Dennis Anderson soaps… My top pick is The Poor Boy Beer Soap Bar (Vegan Friendly)! If you think he might like something heavier, perhaps he will prefer the the Guinness Beer Bar Soap. If he has a more refined palette, maybe you would like to go with the Yuppie Beer Soap (Vegan Friendly), and if he loves to throw back a beer on the more wheaty side, have him suds up with the Widmer Hefeweizen Beer Soap.

Errrr, if he happens not to be a beer guy, there are other options, such as the Tea Tree Olive Oil Soap Bar (VEGAN Friendly)- (wonder if it’s tingly?!), and last but not least– if your guy happens to be a lover of sushi and things spicy -aka wasabi-, then the Cucumber Wasabi Cilantro Olive Oil Soap (VEGAN Friendly) is totally for him. Phew. That’s a lot of soaps. Hell, why don’t you just get them all! They are priced SO well, the presentation is great, it’s a perfect gift, and when you’re with him you can pretend you’re drinking various brews and indulging in sushi. Actually, maybe not… but at least he’ll smell interesting and have fun sudsing up in the shower.

Ladies, Heyyy! I did NOT forget about you… My faves (not that the beer soaps aren’t for the ladies, some of the following just happen to be more femininely scented), would be the Fig lychee and Pink Clay Shea Butter Soap and Shaving Bar (VEGAN Friendly)– UMMM how awesome is that? I also love the sound of the Orange and Sandalwood Soap Bar (VEGAN Friendly) and the Exfoliating Milk and Honey Oatmeal Soap Bar (VEGAN Friendly)… wait.. I love, love, love them all– this is torture having to pick and choose. Go here and see for yourself… I’m telling you- these soaps are fabulous.
