Before we get started. Just in case you don’t read to the bottom (tiss tiss).. I know this is a long one.. let me just tell you — her name is Courtney and she is amazing. If you are looking for a hair stylist who can cut and color to perfection, and I mean, perfection, book your appointment with Courtney at Adam Broderick located in Ridgefield, CT (also one in Southbury, CT).

And on with the story…

As you all know I was having issues with my drab mane. Something HAD to be done. I needed a splash of something.. I needed a few inches cut off.. you know.. the pieces at the bottom, which resembled hay.

Some of my favorite people happen to go to the same salon, Adam Broderick in Ridgefield…and LOVE IT. I sat myself down on Monday night and said, Madds.. something has to be done. Call the salon and just take the first available appointment they have that works for you. Don’t think about it too much just do it. Normally I will scour the web site searching for my ideal stylist, reading their quotes and bio blurb, analyzing every last little word.. This time I left it up to fate.

I called and took an appointment for the following night after work. I was PUMPED.

My appointment time arrived and so at  7:15 I walked through those doors as an excited woman ready to be beautified. From the moment I set foot in the salon I knew it was going to be a wonderful experience. Everyone, including the woman who helped me book my appointment the previous evening, was so gracious, patient, and helpful! Not typical for an upscale salon. Normally you feel bad about asking questions and fear getting snapped at or looked up and down for wearing boots that were so 2008. Not here!

The friendly staff informed me and welcomed me and I looked around the boutique downstairs waiting for my stylist to come and sweep me off my feet. Whilst grazing shelves full of luxurious product, I heard my name called and I turned around to shake hands with the woman who will be cutting and coloring my hair for the rest of my life. Courtney.

She took me upstairs and we chatted about what it was I wanted. As always, I explained my fear of a scissor happy stylist and she immediately extinguished any doubts I had. She assured me that she would respect my wishes and keep my hair as long as she could. We talked color and she explained every single thing to me that I had been wondering about. I felt comfortable asking questions and I felt like she was giving me honest answers. She understood where I was coming from and also understood perfectly where I wanted to go.

Every moment was comfortable and I felt totally safe in her hands. We proceeded with highlights, using my 10,000 pictures as guides. Yes I was a bit over the top and brought a huge portfolio of hair inspiration.. but even with that she was totally cool. I sat for a bit, got shampooed, and then it was time for the big reveal. I loved what I saw so much that I couldn’t stop smiling. Not only a feeling of sheer excitement and prettiness, but also relief. OMG she gets me! She gets me!

She trimmed here and there, and gave me an awesome blow out. After it was dry she cut some more and I don’t know how she did it but cut and cut and cut, yet left me with the length that I was so concerned about. Healthy, long hair. something every girl dreams about! My once long, flat hair now had movement and framed my face perfectly. The color was right on– golden, warm and sun-kissed… It was the haircut from Heaven. Exactly what I wanted and needed.

And this, my friends, is the story of my new and improved hair situation, as well as my new obsession with Adam Broderick Salon and Courtney!!

As soon as I wash my hair and blow it out I’ll post a picture. If I took one right now you’d run screaming in the other direction, as I’m in PJ’s with total bed head. It wouldn’t do Courtney’s cut and color justice.
