Polyvore is a blessing and a curse. I love it so much it hurts, yet it makes me dizzy from staring at clothing ALL DAY LONG, and then I can’t help but to feel a little sad that my outfits solely exist in a virtual world. This is one of the sets I made today when I asked myself this very question, “Madds. If you had like, a HUGE closet and you could walk in there right now and select ANY items that you wanted for free and then wear them for the day, (or until your afternoon outfit change– yes, I change like 4 times a day and have done so since I was old enough to understand the concept of clothing myself)– Sooo, I asked myself, what would that outfit be?”
Here I am walking into my virtual closet. If I couldn’t find what I wanted I searched the entire world wide web until something screamed out to me, imported it into Polyvore, where I was able to add it to a set, and then created my dream outfit for today, Saturday July 18, 2009.
My first stop- the wonderful NET-A-PORTER, where the items are so expensive that I feel like I lose money just looking at them. My heart raced as I scrolled through columns of beautiful garments in the See by Chloé section. Ohhhhh man, oh man, oh man… If I could just reach into the computer screen and snatch this ruffle, plum colored with berry-like accents jumper.. ohhhh I want it. It even has a little bow on the waistline, which melts my heart. CLICK. And just like that, this whimsical little number becomes the first piece of my Saturday outfit. Now that I have my precious jumper on board I am craving yellow… I search and search until I spot the sweetest yellow cardi that someone else has already uploaded onto Polyvore. CLICK. I’m loving what I see. Next stop is this pair of F****** amazing Aubergine Marni heels. ZOMG. CLICK. ohh it feels so good to buy the most amazing shoes (in make believe land, that is). Next I added a few accessories including a cozy wrap scarf that I had used in Match’s STYLEprofile, a $1,300 Chloe bag, just because, some stellar shades and a LOVEMADDS necklace, of course. (the only piece that I actually have in real life. yay.) OHHHH my dream outfit is now yours to see. Thoughts?
