White long sleeve shirt with silver star smack dab in the center. heavy duty braces with purple and teal bands (an homage to my brother’s favorite colors. Charlotte Hornets, say what?!) Pointer Sisters on the boom box. and GO. the dancing that occurred to this song during the formative years of my life is something I could make millions off of had I chosen to some how video tape it aside from what is existing in my mind right now. It wasn’t the dance moves that were solid gold, but rather the innocence and dedication… the mission and the dream (of being in music videos)… the sweaty afterwards and catching of breath… to be followed by yet another go at whatever dance moves had me stumped the first time around. I was going to be a back-up dancer and this was my practice. These were the moves that would get me behind Aaliyah and Ace of Bace. I was sure of it.
