Who doesn’t love bacon. Well, if you answered, “eew…” or, “I don’t like it.” you can just leave now. l-e-a-v-e.

I LOVE bacon. Bacon and I are like this.

When I was little we didn’t really eat bacon. We didn’t eat most things equivalent to bacon in the sense of not being totally healthy and good for you. If anything, we would have tofacon, or facon bacon, maybe turkey bacon.. but never really bacon… never really real hearty, greasy bacon. With that being said, every time we went on vacation or to any type of buffet, my brother and I would return to the table with our plates covered in bacon. It would be piled so high that it practically touched our chins. And then we would finish it. all. and want more.

So when I came to be an adult and realized that I could have bacon in my household should I chose to, I jumped on the opportunity. We would get it once in a while, but the truth is that I would feel guilty eating it. Just knowing about all the preservatives and nitrates in it made me feel like ok.. maybe I should just stay away from good old bacon.

And now for the fun part. I was at work one day with the fabulous Jennifer Paganelli and she changed my world. She introduced me to a better bacon. Ok you probably all kind of think I work for Trader Joe’s at this point, but seriously their bacon is not only freaking delicious, ready made, and not fatty, but also contains NO preservatives nitrites or nitrates (except for the naturally occurring nitrites in celery juice. gosh how could they). It’s apple smoked and UH-mazing.

Yeah. it’s backwards but you get the point.

Also. I found this along my travels of looking for bacon images. looks / tastes good. no?
