finds from the elephants trunk flea market

So yea, these pictures are old, but when I took them at the elephants trunk flea market I always thought it would be cool to write a post about them and then I suddenly realized- hey, I have a place to do that. So, the following pictures consist of my favorite flea market finds, beginning with those that are just creepy. My actual favorite is the doll that says, “hold my left hand and I’ll walk with you”. No thanks.

next, these were some of my favorite pieces. I happened to be obsessed with trunks that day- and there were many. The oldness and cheapness of them all seemed too good to be true until we opened one up and found a human head. We didn’t end up buying any of them – I think they would have been the wrong scale for the house. All too small…

other things I liked and almost talked Jordan into buying. I said we could use them as desks and or organizers. he said no….

So, what did we get?

a scale “from the 17th century” that still works. $45 bucks. We will need to sandblast it, repaint it and then it will be a beautifully, interesting, totally unnecessary piece of furniture in our bathroom! I love it. can you see it? it’s tall and light salmon colored.

We also got this for Jordan’s mom, which she absolutly LOVES. Jordan had to carry it out like an actual woman while he made it clear that it was a gift and not for us…

Conclusion- when you go to a flea market looking for an oversized armoir to buff and repaint, you will always leave with an ancient scale *that still works* and two large mermaids.
