the truth about DDF Pedi-Cream

What is the one part of a woman’s body that is over-used, under-appreciated and abused? What? Ew, gross….not that! I’m, talking about women’s feet. We shove them into shoes too small just because that was the only size left at the sample sale, walk for miles in spiked heels, and rarely wear the un-sexy supportive styles. Now we do partake in pampering pedicures….but if you think of all the potential fungus you are subjecting them to just for a minute long foot rub, you may decide that they are not getting the love they deserve. Thus, this brings me to my next post – an ode to feet.

It all started with a cute little romper I bought at Forever 21. Now, I am not as close to 21 as I used to be, but since Forever is in the title, I figured I could get away with shopping there. It happened to be the start of The Gathering of the Vibes – a weekend long concert featuring jam bands, funk bands, and Grateful Dead wannabe’s. The frequenters are aged original hippies, hippies who studied the sixties in school, and hippies who don’t know what a hippie is. It is a really fun scene – great music and tons of exquisite people watching. Anyway, I figured the romper would be perfect for this environment. The only shoes I had that could possibly make my legs look long enough to get away with the short short were an older pair of gold platform wedges that my husband affectionately hates and calls my “Gold Members.” I know…I don’t get it either. Although not comfortable and definitely not suitable for extended wear….they were perfect.

All started out well. I cruised through the crowds and vendors feeling cute and sexy. 1/2 hour down and not a painful peep from my feet. Then… we got to the field where the main stage was located. Did I mention this was an outdoor concert? Oh, and did I mention that it rained the night before? Well, the field was a muddy mess covered in hay – I guess the staff figured the hay would soak up the excess water – or just hide the sea of mud. At first the platforms proved helpful. My feet were able to hover above the mud propped up by faux cork. My husband’s Toms and feet intimately embraced the goo and he was not happy. About 3 hours in I seemed to be loosing the battle. Black speckles lined my calves, hay was sticking out of my toes and my shoes took on more of a brassy hue. When we made it home I looked at my poor blackened feet and decided to give them a little pampering.

THE VERDICT

I started with a peppermint foot scrub. I then inspected and decided another round – and possibly a third would be necessary. After every last bit of gunk was removed I applied DDF’s Pedi-Cream, a silky smooth subtly minty foot cream that claims to soften calluses, smooth skin texture, cool and invigorate. I then wrapped my feet in a pair of clean socks and elevated them for their nightly rest. I was extremely impressed with DDF’s Pedi-Cream. It felt as if I was wrapping my feet in silk. The cream did not absorb quickly allowing the moisture to linger and penetrate deeply – a quality I love in a foot cream. The next morning when I removed my socks my feet really did feel fresher, a bit softer and ready for a new day of abuse. When you are in between pedicures, I would highly recommend this foot cream as a treat to keep your feet motivated and moving.
