Won’t you come and brunch with me?
Well, it took just about a year of living here, but Jordan and I have discovered our new Sunday brunch spot and it couldn’t be more quaint, delicate, beautiful, sweet, and delicious. Located in Fairfield, CT, Cafe Lola is the Anthropologie of eateries, in terms of ambiance and being able to evoke a magical feeling from within. (please refer to the way Anthropologie makes me feel inside). The food… well, I am salivating as I type just thinking about the omelette palette and French Toast with fresh berries we so thoroughly enjoyed on this special Sunday. (OMG the French toast was sooo right on, I cannot even explain its tasty goodness to you in words) That is actually an understatement. We were mostly speechless during the entire meal, with our vocabulary limited to profound “OMG’s” and “Yummms”.
Our waitress was a gem, and I wish I could remember her name (I want to say CJ?) because she served us one of the most memorable brunches I’ve ever had and she herself was also totally awesome and sweet. Not only was our meal scrumptious, but my ice cappuccino was so good that I almost fell out of my cute little seat (not sure that when something is good we tend to fall out of cute, little seats, but I almost did… and I assure you their seats are cute and little).
It was the perfect morning. errrr afternoon. My hunny across the table sipping a mimosa, me, enjoying an iced drink that tasted like heaven in an adorable glass that made me smile (see photo documentation below), the sun was blazing, but was accompanied by a nice, soft breeze, we were surrounded by sweet flowers in bike-like baskets around our table, delicate music playing in the background, the cutest little salt and pepper shakers that you have ever seen, and an overall sense of peace and good food. Can it get better?
Really, if you live in the area- go here! We didn’t even sit inside, and I’m sure it’s even more adorable in there. We’re saving that treat for next time.
