Can we talk for a second… about boots?

There is something to be said about a sexy, stylish boot that just works for you… whatever that means– Whether that boot happens to be a bootie, a wedge, platform, fringed, knee length, slouchy, studded or suede– you just kind of know when you find a boot that is going to be in your life for a long time. (May I take a moment here… I want to give a shout out to my fave knee length, oh so comfy, oh so stylish, vintage-inspired, leather Zara boots. I heart you forever and no boot will ever replace you. xo)

So back to finding that perfect boot. Tell me– does it not go like this?…. You spot it in the shoe store, immediately request it in your size, and when you finally slip it on your foot you totally have a Cinderella moment… sparks fly, angles sing, you are in heaven… the boot fits! With one boot on and the other foot barefoot (too excited to put them both on before checking yourself out in the mirror), you will hobble over and with your eyes, simply make love to what you see in the looking glass… on your feat.

You’ve never felt so happy with a shoe– regardless of the price you know that you’ve gotta find a way for this shoe to come home with you. (Unfortunately boot boxes are usually HUGE and therefore pose more of a challenge when it comes to the hiding tactics that may or may not be necessary. Jordan has also developed a very scary skill of recognizing new shoes in my closet even if I just toss them onto the shoe rack in the middle of 10 older pairs. I suppose that’s what you get when you demand outfit consultations before going out in any sort of ensemble, which generally requires shoes.)

My conversation usually goes something like, “wow… I totally need these because they will go with dresses (my favorite form of clothing), skirts, pants, leggings, pajamas, onesies”… you name it– these boots will go with it. Then I will admire, up close, the personality of the boot and imagine myself in every scene imaginable wearing this beautiful footwear… to a Nicky Digital party at Ella (holler), apple picking in Connecticut, during a random family reunion in Great Neck Long Island, around the house whilst vacuuming, at a romantic cafe in Rome, and to bed. Yes! These will work! They are amazing, and unique, yet versatile. They are a winner and I am going to buy them!

This is pretty much totally how I felt when I saw these boots online. These would never come off of my feet. Platformed, heeled, studded, tassled leather, kick-ass boots. I love them. Couple them with a Missoni jersey knit jacket, some oooh la la jean shorts, opaque tights and viola. you have yourself a beautiful outfit. The thing that kills me is that the link to the boots is not functioning! IIIIIIIII know! Who writes an entire post about an amazing pair of boots and then is like, “oops, I don’t have the link. sorryyy…”  So, yes… As soon as that’s up and running I’ll pop it in here… until then… eat your little hearts out here on OMG.
