Now, I’ve got a question for you, my lovely readers… petticoats. Fun and funny… or just plain ugly?

I freaking love them. I own two, a salmon colored one and a hot pink one, and I do chose to wear them around the house over clothes, with tights, and any other creative way that I imagine they will bring a ray of sunshine to my day. The thing is… can they be worn in public?

I’m not talking about sexy Halloween costume style… I am not so into that…at all… I’m talking about pairing a dainty pettycoat with some thick, warm tights, a long sleeve, Balmain, embellished silk blouse, big bow in hair, Pour la Victoire platform booties and a long cardigan… heck, why not belt the whole thing (as my dear friend Rebecca likes to say). I think this would be adorable (lashes and all).

Clearly, the brighter colored pieces look more like costume wear than say, a black one would, but I think it’s more fun that way. People won’t really be sure whether you are crazy, or on your way to a Barbie dress up party, or just have confusing taste. I’ll take the ladder, thank you.

The above ensemble is something that I would wear in public… and I sort of a little bit want to know if you all think I am crazy, if you think it looks ok, or if you just don’t care at all. I really, truly understand if you don’t care, but I do hope this inspired you a bit to step outside of the box and wear something that you are madly in love with regardless of what others may think… within reason. submit some comments, peoples!!!!
