wrap it

I certainly can’t take credit for this beautiful Apartment Therapy visual of awesome kraft wrappings, BUT I will say that the idea was mine first 🙂

No really.

Ok. so maybe the entire world has been doing it, but still.

I’ve been wrapping with inside-out Trader Joe’s bags for as long as I can remember… Usually I top it off with a doily (see, they took my idea) twine (yup, took my idea again), a big glitter star, some neon duct tape, and maybe, JUST maybe a flower.. if you’re my Mom.

Really though, people. DO NOT buy wrapping paper. It’s a total waste and it’s usually very ugly…. Either take the butcher paper, newspaper, or kraft paper route. It makes for a homespun feel, you don’t want to cry as you watch people tear it open, and you can really tailor the gift to the recipient’s personality. Stamping the paper is fun too. Don’t have time? Wrap and wrap and wrap in yarn to get a cool, bundled yarny thing going on.

TIP: Go the extra mile for those who appreciate the effort… for, if the person is crafty they will save all of your wrapping elements and it will make you feel happy. If not, they will throw it away and you will feel a little sad.
